Updated COVID-19 Codes

Effective  April 1, there is a new ICD-10 code available for COVID-19 specific Coronavirus. 

For COVID-19 specific diagnosis use code: U07.1

Use additional code to identify pneumonia or other

Please keep in mind:

That the Diagnoses for other coronavirus continues to exist. 

This is the only COVID-19 DX code added in the USA.  Other codes from WHO are not applicable in the United States. 

Also effective April 1, U07.1 codes to Medical Management in PDPM.  

We are holding off on updating our grouper program while we anticipate that CMS will add this diagnosis code to a financial impact under PDPM.  Stay tuned.
